Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OMREX ("Service"). By accessing or using OMREX, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Service Description

OMREX is an automated OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) and grading system designed for educational institutions. The Service includes:

  • Exam sheet digitization and processing
  • Automated answer detection and scoring
  • Grade publishing and student access
  • Attendance tracking and reporting
  • Administrative dashboards and analytics

2. User Eligibility

By using OMREX, you represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are authorized by your institution to use this Service
  • You have read and understood these Terms
  • You will use the Service only for legitimate educational purposes

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Verifying the accuracy of uploaded exam materials
  • Reviewing processed results before publishing to students
  • Complying with your institution's academic policies
  • Using the Service in compliance with applicable laws
  • Not sharing access with unauthorized users

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Manipulate grades or results for unauthorized individuals
  • Access or modify another user's data
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to hack the Service
  • Upload malware or harmful files
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes outside your institution
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against others

5. Academic Integrity

OMREX is a tool for automating fair assessment. You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for legitimate academic assessments
  • Maintain the integrity of examination processes
  • Not use OMREX to circumvent institutional academic policies
  • Take full responsibility for all grades published through the Service

The use of OMREX does not absolve you of academic responsibility. You remain accountable for all assessment decisions.

6. Data & Student Information

When processing student data through OMREX:

  • You warrant that you have authority to process this data
  • You are responsible for compliance with educational data protection laws
  • You must ensure parental/student consent where legally required
  • You agree to use student data only for academic purposes
  • You will not share student data with unauthorized third parties

7. No Liability for Academic Decisions

OMREX is a processing tool. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for all grading decisions
  • OMREX is not liable for disputes over grades or assessment accuracy
  • You must verify results before publishing to students
  • We do not provide academic or pedagogical advice
  • Technical failures do not excuse your grading responsibilities

Always review automated results carefully before publication.

8. Limitation of Liability

OMREX is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to fees paid in the 12 months prior to the claim
  • We are not liable for service interruptions due to circumstances beyond our control
  • We are not liable for lost data if you fail to maintain backups

9. Service Availability

While we aim for high availability:

  • We do not guarantee 100% uptime
  • Maintenance may occur with notice
  • We are not liable for service interruptions
  • You should maintain offline backups of important data

10. Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You misuse student data or academic information
  • You engage in illegal activities
  • You breach your institution's agreement with OMREX
  • You create security risks

Suspension will be followed by notice and opportunity to remedy where feasible.

11. Intellectual Property

OMREX software, algorithms, and documentation are our intellectual property. You are granted a limited license to use the Service. You may not:

  • Copy or distribute our software
  • Modify or create derivative works
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract algorithms
  • Use our name or logo without permission

12. Third-Party Services

OMREX may integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for:

  • Third-party service quality or availability
  • Third-party data handling practices
  • Compatibility issues with third-party tools

You are responsible for reviewing third-party terms and privacy policies.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email with 30 days' notice. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws where OMREX is headquartered. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration or small claims court where permitted.
